Originally published this on my Facebook page but since the video had trouble linking here, I had to re-upload it on Youtube. May this be an encouragement to all singles this holiday season. Remember, it’s Jesus we should be celebrating. We shouldn’t be sulking that we don’t have a special someone to canoodle with. 🙂 Watch the video for more!

Oh my gosh! This is one of the most common FAQs for single women and men. While I understand that there are some who are genuinely concerned over a single person’s long-term happiness, there’s also a percentage of of those who ask just because they feel like marriage is the magical solution to all of life’s problems.

Don’t get me wrong, I respect marriage. If the Lord has that lined up for me, then I know He will work all the details out. If He wants me to stay single, that’s totally fine as well. So I was just browsing through my Facebook and came across the trailer of Jodi Sta. Maria’s new movie “The Achy Breaky Hearts” which also stars Ian Veneracion and Richard Yap as her leading men. The trailer had me laughing the whole time as it played out scenes that a typical single working Filipina faced daily–family, a career, good friends, boyfriend/relationship goals, watching movies alone (I CAN SO RELATE! HAHA) and those reunions where relatives would always ask you the inevitable: “Kelan ka ikakasal?”

There isn’t anything wrong with aspiring or praying to find someone to spend the rest of your life with. I think however, it’s important to have the right heart before God and to also have the right motives for desiring a relationship. If I want a relationship just because I want to get out of a rut or I think it will solve a current problem, then that is not the right time to get into it. Two imperfect beings cannot fix each other for only God can do that.

Fall in love with the Lord! He is so enough! So many times, I’ve experienced God’s grace fill me especially when I have those moments when I feel lonely (yes, even #HappySingles have those days). The great thing is, God’s love NEVER RUNS OUT. So find satisfaction in Him and grow in Him so that your cup overflows. 😀

Blessings to you, dear reader!

What does your soul pursue?

Will you run after the things of this world or will you run after what pleases God?

Will you run after serif

I honestly find myself struggling with this.  Sometimes I feel like I can strongly say no to the temptations of the world but then there are days when I just want to give in–define myself with worldly success, buy things that will impress people and make them like me. I thought I was over this phase when I got past my teenage years but it turns out, we cannot be too proud. Our sinful nature will creep in and the enemy will do whatever it takes to distract and get us off the path the Lord has laid out. That’s why prayer is essential. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
